Engineer – Civil, Project Management Office (P&DC)

Job Role / Responsibilities:
You will work on exciting and creative projects of high-tech health care, research and educational buildings. S/he will be provided opportunities to engage with local firms to execute the projects as per institutional standards and guidelines.
Other responsibilities will include:
Assist Project Manager in developing construction schedule as per requirement, monitor the execution and prepare progress works report.
Execute end user changes as per design and specifications of quality within allocated budget and timelines.
Verify quantities taken by Quantity Surveyor (QS) from civil / architectural drawings and arrange to prepare Bill of Quantity (BOQs) for implementation of work within specified budget, allocated materials and labor resource planning.
Upon instructions of Construction Manager exercise control on supervisors to ensure quality control and progress. Authorize control and record overtime of supervisors on a daily basis.
Verify quality of work in accordance with drawings and specifications and also certify the quantities of contractor’s bill checked by QS to enable timely payment of bills.
Raise requisition of civil materials to Purchase Department for procurement of Owners Furnished Materials (OFM). Also arrange to procure petty material as and when required.
Arrange to rectify punch-lists of civil work and verify quality and quantities of contractor’s bill.
Ensure that ISO and JCIA initiatives are planned for work improvement.
Ensure all the staff and contractors adhere to safety measures at work to prevent accident/loss.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
At least 3 years of related civil works experience.
Well verse with project management and constructions executional work.
Be able to read construction drawings.
Proficient in using computer software.
Excellent supervisory and communication skills.
Ability to work under stress and in special circumstances.
